LoginEKO joins the annual Global Network of Lighthouse Farms meet and workshop in Indonesia.

Last year we officially became a part of the Global Network of Lighthouse Farms (GNLF), an initiative led by Wageningen University & Research, bringing together exemplary farms and foodscapes from around the world that have found radical solutions to address the sustainability challenges we currently face.

This year, we were excited to join the annual meet and workshop for the first time. This week-long event, co-hosted by WUR and University Brawijaya, brings together experts and practitioners for an in-depth exploration of complex farming systems and showcasing the pioneering efforts of smallholder farmers in creating resilient and diverse rice farming ecosystems.

A highlight from the event was the unveiling of the Complex Rice System (CRS) by Prof. Uma Khumairoh of Brawijaya University. This system exemplifies a dynamic approach to agriculture that boosts biodiversity, cuts costs, and improves soil quality.

One of the members of the LoginEKO Agro R&D team, Đura Karagić, represented us, engaging with global researchers in hands-on experiences and discussions aimed at advancing sustainable farming practices.

Đura also shared insights into our own innovative practices, focusing on livestock-free farming, how we’ve embraced agricultural resilience by introducing non-traditional, drought-tolerant crops, such as chickpeas, to increase on-farm biodiversity in Serbia.

He also discussed the application of our own Farming Software which helps us efficiently manage all aspects of our farming operations and ensures full traceability throughout the agricultural process. Engaging with various Lighthouse Farms, he explored interest for them to become early adopters of our Farming Software, which we will share for free once proven effective.
